2 year is a nightmare child

I have name changed for this as I feel a bit of a prat as I am an experienced mother.

My youngest child who is two is a terrible, terrible sleeper. I am just about at my wits end. He is worse now and wakes more than a newborn.

He goes to bed at approx 7.30 and goes off ok. We have a good regular routine. Bath, milk, story.

Then anytime from 11.30 onwards he starts to wake. Could be once(if we are lucky) but often 3 or 4 times. Screams his head off usually. Cannot ignore it for any length of time. As far as I can tell he doesn't need anything. Nappy dry, doesn't need a drink, has his dummy to hand. I am feeling that it is just a reassurance thing. He will mainly settle with a bit a shushing(i very rarely pick him up) and lying him back down. Great. except he does it all again, maybe two hrs later.

When he is ill/teething he is a million times worse. We give him the benefit of the doubt sometimes and cover all avenues by giving medicine, a drink, olbas oil anything, presuming he may be unwell. Only to have him wake happy as Larry and a s fit as a fiddle in the morning.

My other dc's have slept well, and We haven't done anything different.

Any advice anyone? All this is killing my Dh and myself.

We do occaisonally get a good few days, but seriously this is never any more than 4 days in a row, when we think we have cracked it. Only to start up again as before.

Just realised that I should have posted this in sleep. How do I move it?
