pulling his 'bits'

My 10 m o has started pulling at his willy while I change him, in all sorts of wierd shapes.

I don't think he's hurting himself or he would cry/stop, although the stretchyness gave me a shock at first!

But, I'm not sure if he's doing it just as an exploratory 'getting to know his body' thing or if he's maybe uncomfortable/itchy or sore? He sometimes is a bit red on the underside of his willy and I have used Sudocrem for nappy rashes and stuff so far... but i try not to put it too close to his pee hole though so it doesn't go inside and cause irritation/infection.

What do you think... is it worth going to the doctors or does this sound totally normal?

Sounds normal. Wait until you potty train!

As long as he seems himself and there are no symptoms, it's totally normal.
He'll stop doing it when he's about 90 years old!

Totally normal. It's my 20m DS's favourite thing, he often cries when his nappy goes back on.

So hard to tell when they can't say anything, he has all these teething symptoms overriding everything he does so it's hard to tell if grouchy clingy hot & not eating right is illness or just teething =[

I don't think it hurts as much as you'd expect. Having found ds (age 4 so you'd think he'd have known better) clipping a clothes peg to the end of his, I think it must not hurt. He did tell me it didn't hurt, but he hasn't done it again.

OMG! well, i mean, it must have some 'growing room' in there for future purposes but it does stretch an unbelievable amount! I am going to have to tell DP about the clothes peg just to see the look on his face lol!
