My 2.5 yr old has recently been asking me where things come from, he is particularly curious about chickens and eggs and where they come from, where do eggs come from? Where do chickens come from? It's only a matter of time before he pipes up, well what came first? The other day he asked my DH where babies come from? Poor dh was a bit nonplussed, I don't think we bargained on the heavy weight questions at 2! We say from their mummy's and leave it at that - as with tigers, lions and peacocks!!

Don't worry. It's quite normal for 2 year olds to ask such questions.
The good thing is that they usually accept simpler answers than older children.
At 2, my DD was quite satisfied to learn that babies come from eggs inside their mummy's tummy. When she asked how Daddies are involved, she learned that they have a seed.
She's now 5 and has yet to ask about how the seed and egg get together.
