Discipline for boisterous 3 year old?

My Ds1 is 2.11. He can be a lovely little man and people often compliment us on his good manners etc but he just does not listen to a word we say.

He will push his brother, throw toys for the laugh, run off on me in shop etc

I had been using distraction and then removal of toys but he doesnt really care when i do that. Then we started putting him into his highchair until he calmed down and that worked great for a while but not anymore.

I dont want him to be scared of us but he just has absolutely no fear of getting into trouble! I remember hating getting given out to as a child but he couldnt care less. Its like everything is a game to him.

I dont really like the naughty step but i feel I am running out of options.

Any advice???

Sorry can't help much but just wanted to day you are not alone! We have a reward chart - 10 smilies = 1 special treat, smilies can be crossed out when naughty but it is becoming less effective. I think it is not immediate enough.

Yes i tired reward chart a while ago but he needed an immediate prize to keep him interested.

I give him loads of praise and positive attention. We haven't been getting out much lately as its just so cold. hes in playschool until 12:30 then ds2 needs his nap until 3, by then it is too cold to go out. It could be that because he does love the outdoors.

maybe I will try to fit in a run somewhere in the day.

Its good to know hes not the only one. He has his school play next week and im dreading it Sad incase he starts acting up in front of everyone. I feel terrible as its his first play and i should be excited for it : (
