Mixing up M & W

DS1 is just 3 and seems to be very keen on letters and numbers, and asks a lot what things say, what letter is that etc. But he gets certain similar looking letters mixed up, such as 'M' and 'W'.

DH and I both have brothers who are dyslexic, and I wondered if this is an early sign, or is it normal at this age to struggle with this?

I know I can't tell at this stage, but just wondered if anyone had any experience please?

I don't 'test' him and am not pushing him, it's entirely led by him, I just would like to help him if he is dyslexic when the time comes.

He is only just 3! You're worrying about nothing.

Thank you. I think it's just that both of us saw our brothers diagnosed late (in the 80s) and have a hard time at school because of it, and don't want ds1 to have such a difficult time. Time will tell I suppose, but I needed to hear that.
