I'm still hungry!

My DD 2.7 is driving me nuts! For the last few weeks she keeps saying she's hungry. She will eat a huge breakfast (cereals, fruit, yoghurt & toast) then say she's STILL hungry! She will then 'hound' me for the rest of the morning asking when is snack time?! And of course reminding me that she's still hungry! She'll then have a mid am snack, then lunch, etc etc but after every meal/ snack she goes on and on about 'still being hungry' IT IS DRIVING ME MAD! Perhaps it's a growth spurt but 3 weeks?? I could perhaps understand if she was bored but we're always on the go , so can someone please explain what this is all about?? And no, it is not worms!

Could she be thirsty? It's often mistaken for hunger. Does she have a god drink when she wakes up?

Otherwise does she have enough to entertain herself with?

Gah....a GOOD drink...not a GOD drink! Sounds like some kind of religious ceremony!

She does drink a lot of water already. She is kept busy as well. I'm thinking about getting a lock on the fridge because she's started helping herself!

Why don't you set an alarm that sounds when she can have the next snack. It's not always about hunger, sometimes it's more, what can I do... nice snack would be nice.

I usually find that the "desperately hungry" after a meal disappears when I offer a plain piece of bread. Or I put out some fruit and say they can help themselves, but when it's gone I don't want to hear any more complaints.

Normal thread worms don't affect appetite stranded only tape worms make you hungry.

DeWe I don't think alarming her food intake is a healthy choice...it would be like that experiment with the dog and the bell! Can't remember what it was called but they sounded a bell every time the dog was fed and eventually he would salivate automatically on hearing the bell!

It does sound a bit like boredom....I would just offer water or fruit when she says shes hungry in between meals and then a distraction.

She's probably growing, or testing her boundaries...... why not give her a bit extra at meals, even if it seems ridiculous, sometimes mine can eat me under the table..!
