Boys singing treble - when can you tell?

At what age do you know if a boy can sing treble? Just wondering really. DH was a good treble, and we have 2 DS (one of them is only months old, mind! Smile) and we were wondering when you can tell. DH says he can't remember. Hmm

Ooh, will ask on G&T as well.

Going to depend on the child. Dd1 and ds both were singing in tune before they were 2yo. Noticably so people would comment. Dd2 couldn't sing in tune at all until she was 5-6 but has rapidly developed a lovely voice in the last couple of years as long as she concentrates.

Dh has perfect pitch, but couldn't sing in tune until he was about 12-13. Said it drove him crazy.

At school the choir teacher didn't reckon the choir was for younger than year 4 as very few could keep in tune well enough.
