DD7 worried about me dying

Not sure why but is it normal for a 7 year old to worry about death?

I would say it is normal. Kids pick up on all sorts and worry about things like we all do. My sister was the same age when she was asking about death every day. She then went through a stage when she worried about nuclear bombs!
