DS is potty training ATM. He still has a nappy at night and so had it on when he got up this morning. He did a poo, took his nappy off and then came to tell us some 10-15 minutes later. I was a a bit "argh" but actually, he had managed not to get poo anywhere, and because he'd not sat down in it etc it was easier to clean up than usual and since poo nappies are usually a horrific battle it was a welcome change. DP said we shouldn't let him take his nappy off (he should have to be changed) because if he doesn't like the feeling of poo around him, he should be choosing to go on the potty. He has never done a poo on the potty, BTW, seems to be scared of it, despite various incentives we've come up with. So I think that's DP's reason for pushing it whereas I think if we leave him to it he will get there eventually. But then I was wrong about the wees - he's only happily wearing pants now because we took away all nappies and told him they were special new ones which he could only use at night.
