I'm a first time mum, I quite like my books, I don't always feel as if I instinctively know what to do! DD has outgrown most of my baby books now she is over a year.

I have the Wonder Weeks book which goes up to about 18 months, that's about it, so I'm after some more rec's.

Have you got Toddler Taming?

We have 'What to Expect: the toddler years' which is good for month by month milestones and I enjoyed 'Brain Rules for Baby' by John Medina.

'Your baby and child' by Penelope Leach is good - especially on behaviour as she is a child psychologist.

Playful Parenting, How to Talk... and Unconditional Parenting if you fancy having your assumptions challenged!

Toddler Taming, Christopher Green..just the BEST!
A wonderful sense of persective on the whole toddler thing..in the 'nutrition' chapter, he (a paediatrician by trade) suggests a monthly visit to McD's...because of the relief it brings at seeing how much worse at least one other person's toddler there behaving.
Any book that can make you snort with laughter at the same time as making you realise you are doing an OK job is worth its weight in gold!
