4 year old hates noise!

My 4 year old has never liked loud noises. He's ok with noises like the vacuum cleaner and even fireworks but at times, even the noise from a fan heater disturbs him and he gets very uncomfortable. When my partner does DIY with an electric saw or drill, he doesn't like that either. He's hearing seems extra sensitive. Is this normal?

some people are just lke that...my DD1 is and I am too. It literally hurts my head when an ambulance goes past me...or those and dryers in toilets....I don't think it indicates anything really. I am quite sensitive generally.

it's a sensory thing perhaps? his senses literally are reacting more strongly than they should to that particular timbre and tone.

It's not uncommon. It only matters if it affects your everyday life.
