Hi there,

I'd like to buy my niece a fantastic toy for Christmas. She will be 18 months in Feb. Does anyone have any recommendations? There's just so much out there!

Thank you

My 17 MO likes V-tech things with lots of buttons to press. She has a V=tech tree you can roll balls down, a bit like the car garage toys.

If you're on a budget, the Early Learning Centre wooden shape sorter is great.

Shape sorter and 1st train set of the Brio (or similar) variety are good for boys and girls.

DD2 is 18 mths and her current favs are Dolls, Shape sorter, Vtech/leapfrog noisy toys and toy animals.

Things ive bought her for xmas are Happyland, magnetic scribbler, stickle bricks, wooden blocks, Megabloks.

Ds is nearly 17 months and loves things with buttons at the mo.
Don't know your budget but he's got a ride on bus which had buttons and the seat lifts up to store things in. Think it's about £30 from Argos.

Art stuff - playdough/crayons/glitter/paint/foam shapes. Great for now and will not become 'too young'. Maybe an easel if you want to get something 'big'. We have one from GLTC that has blackboard on one side, a magnetic board on the other and holds a roll of paper.
