my dd who is 4.10 has a backing disorder where she pronounces her t's as k's and d's as g's. Just wondering if anyone else has had this with their dc and how long it took to resolve?

Yes, my DD had a backing issue and is under the SALT.
DD is now 6.5yrs so we are waiting for a 6 month review to be signed off (hopefully).
She saw a SALT from the age of 3 because of phonological delays. She had weak facial muscles which delayed her pronunciation. She was a very early, precocious talker yet was barely understandable. She could ramble in paragraphs before the age of 2, yet only a select few could understand.
The backing issue was part of the delay.
SALT helped a lot as did age and confidence. I would say that by the age of 6 she had outgrown it completely, though I still translated a bit for her until the age of 5yrs.

thanks brachy for your message.

So there is hope then. My dd has been under speech therapy since the age of 3 on and off, just about to go back after a 6 month break, but in that time nothing has improved with regards to her backing disorder.

Hopefully in the next year or two I should maybe see some progress.
