8yo (nearly 9) tantrums - 'normal'?

Dd (9 in one month) has just had a complete wipe-out tantrum because I got all 3 dc new wellies, and she wanted the ones I got for her little brother.

She started having these massive explosions at about the time she started school, and has never stopped.

I thought toddlers and teenagers have tantrums, and you were supposed to have a relatively tantrum-free break between-times. Am I being particularly naive?

It's wearing.

My dd will be 9 in feb and has the greatest tantrums, she never tantrumed as a toddler tho, I just ignore her when she starts!

Welcome to the weird world of the nine year old Pretty.

Cutting off your nose to spite your face is very important.

Explode over-

Homework.
Where you sit in the car.
What glass you get your drink in.
Doing anything you are told.

Wearing is an understatement. Hmm

Get to the 'preteens' topic and you'll see this is very common. But not easy!
