My DS has bypassed crawling and is a very fast cruiser going from one piece of furniture to the other and can stand unaided for about 5 seconds. He can walk well with me holding onto one hand. He can't yet pull himself up from a sitting position, is this normal? Shouldn't he have learnt this before the walking? I am trying to teach him to get himself up but he gets really frustrated and has a meltdown almost every time I try!

oh milkyjo, i don't think you need to teach him! unless he has some specific special needs type problem, he will learn how to do that himself. it's quite normal! you'll just annoy him by trying to make him do things. My dad tried to 'make' DS1 stand up to walk. DS1 politely ignored him and a month or two later did it when he was ready. well done to milky junior :)

He's fine - they do different things in different stages and as they occur to them!
