dd is mostly great company, very affectionate and has a great sense of humor. But everyday she argues about something she knows best and knows everything, she is a self confessed know it all. It doesn't matter how ridiculous it is for example

Dd Great grandmother: these are called sycamore seeds they have seeds in them
Dd: no there are not there helicopters
Me: they real name is sycamore seeds
Dd: no it's not

Repeated until dd gets so frustrated and annoyed.

This is a simple thing that happened today but this is all the time and can be with teachers at preschool, any family members. She'll even argue that blue is green or 3 is 4 etc etc. She is headstrong and won't be told anything is wrong.

She also knows wants what she wants and this is getting worse over last week for example 'Please can i have this song on the radio' to be fair she asks politely etc but I feel she needs to learn she cannot have everything she wants, so today I said no to her having her song on she sobbed and fir the rest of the journey screaming 'please'. tonight I used her old inhaler instead of new one for effectiveness and she was sobbing at the thought of having to use her old one. Tbf she is ill at the moment so this could be why everything is more dramatic.

So basically please tell me is my dd hiding some undiagnosed defiant disorder (!) or is this normal behavior and if it is normal please share some arguments you have had with you dc,so I can feel better sympathize.

Normal - I have one of these too. She won't be told anything, will be a miracle if she actually learns anything when she goes to school!

Glad it's not just mine then. this morning arguments consisted of

Dd: 'mummy do you know where my seagull Teddy is?
Me: 'what seagull Teddy?'
Dd 'you know the one we got from the reef centre'
Me: 'oh you mean the seal teddy'
Dd: 'no! It's a seagull'
Me: 'no it isn't, it's a seal, a seagull is a bird'
Dd: 'ha ha a seagull isn't a bird'
Me: 'yes it is'

And so on and so on. :o
