Exorcist Vomiting

I wonder if anyone else has had this.

My rising 10 month old daughter occasionally (sometimes once a week) will be eating something and start to retch, then all of a sudden will be sick, but its like a fountain of sick, she will bring up everthing. She can do it on smooth food as well as jars with the lumps in them. This morning is was eating wheatabix. She just started to cough and the next thing we were away.

Have spoken to my HV who says to try and encourage her to eat more lumps, and if that does not work to speak to my GP.

Just wondered if any other parent has had the same with their babies eating solids?

My daughter started projectile vomitting when she was about a year old and it continued sporadically into her toddler and infant years. We got her checked out by the hosp and they advised that it's quite common for small children to develop a gastric obstruction so the body moves to reject food that's backing up in the stomach, by pushing it up with force, out of the gut. My daughter later described migraine like symptoms that accompanied gastric discomfort and as soon as the food came up, she'd be fine. All the symptoms subsided by the time she was about 4-5. Excess stomach acid could worsen the symptoms, I found so I kept her away from too many citric fruits or fizzy drinks.
