Anyone had a toddler with chicken pox go loopy?

Don't know if the 2 are related but my 2yo DD has chicken pox and seems to have gone a bit loopy.
She was up for 2 hours last night talking constantly about anything and everything. Tonight she refused to go to bed at her normal time despite being tired and we've just had to drive around for nearly an hour to get her to drop off. For most of the journey she was singing the hokey cokey, wheels on the bus and talking non-stop about all the people she knows. It was very funny and cute, but I really hope it's related to her being ill and not a permanent change.
Anyone had a similar experience?

Have you been giving her piriton or similar? Has this affect on my DD.
Or is her temp high as in delirium?

Thanks for replying cheekeymonkey. Yes, we did give her piriton. It lists excitability as a side effect, so maybe that's it. Hopefully it will stop when she gets over the pox.

Sounds like my 2 yo DD on a good day! Wonde what'll happen when she gets chicken pox. Although piriton, for an allergy, seems to make her a bit lethargic. Hope your little girl is well soon.
