My 20 month old used to have a great appetite and would happily eat whatever we gave him but the last few weeks have been hell at teatime. He will scream with his tongue hanging out and push all food away from him. We've tried games, music - all manner of things to encourage him to eat his tea, but it's just so traumatic and he gets himself into a terrible state. We took him out of the highchair, thinking a change of scenery may help; encouraged more independence re fork/spoon/use of fingers. I just don't know what to do, and I know I shouldn't worry about him starving, but I do!

Does he eat the rest of the day? Could he have a sore throat?

Tired? Is it only tea time? Does he have an earlier snack? Has he stopped a nap recently?
