Controlled crying at age 7 - help!

Sorry i just posted but DD is still crying really loudly. Do I treat her like a baby, go in every 5 minutes? This is insane, she is 7 years old not 7 months. She has been fed, read a story etc and is crying because she wants mummy or daddy to lie with her while she goes to sleep.

I have no advice but just wanted to say that we sometimes have a similar problem with DD (5). I don't know what to do about it either. I don't think I'd go in every 5 minutes. Is she over-tired, or worried about something? DD tends to be anxious about things and she can't sleep.

Sometimes we find letting her read a bit before she goes to sleep works (which is difficult as she shares a room).

Probably over tired. Late night last night and she was up at the usual time.

She is usually difficult at bedtime, though not usually howling like this.
