Don't panic - I can see her in her baby telly monitor and she's as happy and as safe as she can be. She's playing away and I'm left to enjoy my afternoon read and a coffee... Aaaaaaaaaaah...

Unfortunately, this has only started happening since few weeks ago for us - until then we had to participate in all playing to some extent... I simply can't believe she's finally playing on her own without calling me every few seconds.

P.S. Posh telly only cost £20 - we love it!

ds does this too, and I haven't got a posh monitor, but then I have a small house - if he shouts "Mummeeeeeee!" I can hear him loud and clear. He is 2.8 and has been doing it for a few months. Isn't it heavenly!

Oh wonderful! Ds (2.9) has taken a little longer but is finally getting there...played so quietly upstairs today that I thought he had fallen asleep. It's scary but lovely

My children are 6 and 8 and don't do this. Always want to play around me, unless on gamecube.

trouble is, this bliss won't last for long - we're "working" on another one at the mo

Sometimes DS2 (2.5)gets up in the morning and can be found sitting outside the bedroom door. Doesn't want to disturb us? Or maybe plotting his evil work for the day? More likely....
