Toddler tics or something else?

I have a 20 month old DS. He's doing some things that are a bit 'odd', namely thrusting out his lower jaw (making him look like a little bulldog!), looking out of the corners of his eyes or walking round in circles, nearly always when playing alone. It's not a constant thing - it might happen a couple of times a day, for short periods. I can always easily distract him when he's doing it.

He was tilting his head every so often for a couple of months, but seems to have stopped doing that now. Is it likely he's just trying new things out?

i'm not sure myself but am interested in replies. My 17 month old has been tilting his head to the side every now and again for a few weeks. He also walks round in circles but it tends to be when he's dancing to some music on the telly so i'm not worried bout that

It may be nothing at all, but I suggest filming several of these episodes with your phone/ipad/camera, and take to the GP - he/she would have a much better idea from a film clip, than just a description, whether it's just normal playing about or something that should be looked into further.
