Aww, she cares about films....

She's gotten scared by some films for a while, but over Christmas DD has suddenly caught on to emotion in film storylines... She called me over for cuddles when Tommy and Dil were lost in the woods in Rugrats the other day, and today she is actaully all tearful over Spirit, and the poorly horsie.

Its so nice to see how much she's understanding, but heartbreaking at the same time to see her getting all upset.

Sounds like my DD. She gets so involved with the stories and what is happening. We generally have to make sure she keeps watching to see that they all have happy endings. DD cries at the sad buits and the happy bits. It is all so emotional watching it all with her.

FlameRobin · 30/12/2005 12:28

She was all happy to see the horsies together again at the end. I was worried about Neverending Story the other week, but Channel 5 did some very very good editing, so they cut to an advert just as the horse was sinking, and cut back to a sad Atreyu.

Neverending Story is the first film I remember getting upset over, so I might just be paranoid

DD is like it with most films at some point: all the Disney ones get her! And ET broke her heart. really did have to force her to keep watching.

FlameRobin · 30/12/2005 12:37

I tend to avoid ET at all costs... I cry easily anyway, and the little grey alien gets me everytime - you see the flower dying and a HUGE lump comes in my throat.

DD too young thank goodness, cos I'm terrible. But do remember sister completely unaffected by anything until she was 12ish. We watched Deerhunter and she cried for hour and 1/2 after. Boy did I think I think I was in trouble.
