DS 2.10 walking on tip-toes

My DS is walking on his tip-toes, he can walk on the flat of his feet as he has and runs this way etc, however when he is just wandering round the house or what not, he walks on his tip-toes. It's driving me mad, as MIL made a cat bums face at him doing it in hers the other day and made a big deal of it, i.e how long has he been doing this etc?!

I'm now getting stressed about it, and he is a PFB so i have no experience of other children doing this or what not?!

Pls if anyone can alleviate my stress that would be great!!

He is otherwise quite normal for his age, good grasp of language, plays happily, tantrums..all normal 2yr old behaviour.

Some people could offer their stories about tip toe walking, some DC will have stopped by themselves, some will have had surgery, some will be related to other conditions, so no one on here can actually alleviate your stress by telling you about their DC's in this instance as your boy could be different. However knowing others have been in a similar boat can be reassuring. How about visiting your health visitor or GP? They will ask you all those questions too though Smile ie how long when where what surfaces etc etc etc etc, but don't stress, just find out.... if he's really doing well, he'll keep doing well whatever the cause, but just ignoring unusual behaviour ( unless its part of a behavioural strategy) never works in the long run.
Good luck x

Sometimes by DS around the same age does this.

Sometimes he walks like I imagine the hunch back of notradame would walk. It is his "monster" walk.

He also sometimes walks sideways.

My only way to change it - has been to teach him to march, so I go 1 2 3 4 and lift those feet - and he marches.

Not sure if that helps? You might have already tried making a game out of it.

yes well since this afternoon, he's been walking properly and running etc, spoke to my BF in RL and she has 3 DC's who she said all did this at some point, and she has seen my DS walk fine she said, so not to worry, obviously if it continues i'll take it up with HV, thanks very much people :)
