A question about the red book thingy

When my DS was born I got given the red book, as you do.

Does it make a difference that my DS's book only has girls centile charts in? No boys ones.

I didn't realise that they came with just one gender in them. My older DDs book has both in.

Does it matter that his growth will be plotted on a girls chart? Does it mean that the centile won't be true to his actual growth? I'm not sure if boys generally follow a different path to girls. Should I mention it at next check up and ask for a boy's book?

Think there must be pages missing, just ask HV for them.

Ah so they do have both genders charts in then? I havent been given the 'wrong' book?

They start off with both in and then the HV/whoever removes one set - that's what happened with ds's, anyway. Ask them for the right pages.

Yes the centiles are slightly different for boys and girls.

My books have both sets in. And the centiles are quite different - at 12 months, my boy twin is one pound heavier than his sister, yet he is on the 9th centile and she is on the 25th.

Hope you get it sorted. You should just be able to add in the boy charts so you keep all the other gumpf that's already been filled in.

My red books only have one set of charts - DS's has a blue dot on the front. I think the hospital put them together with one set per gender.
