Hi everyone

Just a quick question really... My 10 mo old isn't very affectionate ie: he doesn't like being cuddled or kissed and pushes me away
Makes me a bit :(

He's always wanting to be on the move and won't just snuggle on the couch or anythin

Is anyone else's dc like this? And will he get more affectionate? I want him to wrap his arms round me back :)

My DD1 was like this, but it changed when she got to about 2 and a half - she's 7 now and very affectionate. If I tried to cuddle her she would push me away and if I forced it she would screech!!

I wouldn't worry about it - it will change as he gets older.

My youngest was exactly the same till about 3 years old, she would never cuddle but she is almost 9 now and the most affectionate out of all my 5 girls.

my DS1 was very like that - would only sit still if ill - gave us hugs maybe at 1 or 14 months and also changed he got older - now at nearly 6 he also very affectionate -although I am not allowed to kiss him at school!

yes, both DS's were the same. Now DS1 is nearly 6 and as loving as could be and DS2 is 21 months and just starting to want cuddles and kisses. In fact he has just learned to kiss, so I am making the most of it. Don't worry, they just want to explore at that age for a few months ayear--

oops crap crossing out a year.............?

TheLaineyWayIsEssex · 27/10/2011 23:19

My ds is like that (11mo) makes me sad too, especially when I hear other people talking about getting kisses from their babies. Am reasurred to hear it is normal.

FunnysInTheGarden · 28/10/2011 09:38

An0ther laughing that you aren't allowed to kiss your nearly 6 year old at school. Neither am I since he started Year 1. He looks mortified if I ever forget and try to kiss him goodbye!

Hi, my DD was the same, she used to wriggle away from hugs and kisses until about three months ago (she's two) and she is always clambering up for hugs and kisses, so don't get too down, before you know it you will be trying to peel him off Grin

My DS just the same. He's 16 months now and no change, though now that he's learning to walk he does take a few eager steps towards me with arms outstretched -- that's the most affection I've ever had!
