Please make my baby go to sleep

7 weeks old. Has been awake since 8 this morning barring a nap for an hour and a half at lunchtime. Everytime she seems to have dropped off her eyes ping open again 30 seconds later even when she is just left on my chest to sleep! I can't take much more of this. I need to sleep!

Oh Lordy you poor thing, I have no advice really apart from the normal checks . .

Hungry? Wet? um . . .

I'm also guessing you're tried her in the car/pram/swing thing. White noise? Dummy? You hold her while bouncing on a bouncy ball thingy?

I'm trying to remember what it was like with my dds as tiny babies. It's all rather a blur now.

You have my sympathies, I hope she drops off soon. Do you swaddle her? Sometimes that can help them feel snug.

Have you tried a sling during the day? Does she sleep in a pram or car seat? I know it doesn't solve the night problem but maybe if these techniques can lull her to sleep during the day, she might sleep a bit better at night? It took me a while to figure out that DD was sleeping poorly at night because she would be overtired from poor napping during the day. So, into the sling/pram/car seat she went!
It will get better! I'm up with a jet lagged baby just now. Not fun!

Yep pretty much tried everything I can think of really. Drove round for an hour and a half this afternoon and she stayed resolutely awake the entire time Angry think she may have dropped off finally. Wish me luck getting her in the crib now!
