Now hates his favourite place..

I wasn't sure which topic to put this under, but thought it was a change in my DS's behaviour, so here goes.

DS has always loved his changing table, where we change nappies, get dressed and sometime just lay there to play. However, ever since starting solids two weeks ago (this may be complete coincidence, but the only thing I can think of that's changed) he cries as soon as he is being laid down onto the mat. He has lost complete interest in his toys and hates having his clothes changed. The tears just start streaming. I can only seem to 'distract' him by humming the Eastenders theme tune!!

I've tried changing the toys and mobile and he is always in a good mood when I go to put him down. Plus he has no problems lying on his playmat in the lounge, so I don't think it's a heartburn etc. problem.

The only thing I could think of is as he's now only pooping once every 24-36hrs that maybe he's a bit 'sensitive' down below. Also, last night, we moved the furniture around in his room to see if that helps (incase it was a draft or something).

Any advice on how I can make this his 'safe' place again? Thanks for the help.

Sorry, DS is 18wks.

Yes, a possibility, but he also gets upset for the first change of the day, which is usually after 15mins or so of cuddle time with daddy before he goes to work, and before morning feed. I'll make a mental note tomorrow as to when we go for the change.. (just starting to get those brain cells back now DS has dropped to only one night feed! )

Had the same problem this morning, but this time it was "rain drops keep falling on my head" that eventually stopped him from thinking about where he was. Had been wide awake for 30mins or so and this change was after his morning feed.

Any other ideas? Not to worry if not, looks like I'll be singing all day. Any good websites that have lyrics? Will have to give the neighbours ear plugs..
