How to cope with this.....

high pitch screaming tantrums?? My DS aged 3 has been doing this for about 3 weeks and now I am coming to the end of my patients!!!
I have tried explaining that it is not nice, putting in his room and now taking toys away, but nothing seems to work! HELP

hayleylou, after a day of this, I go into my bedroom, close the door, and scream at the top of my voice for a long time. Hey, it helps me!

Seriously, I try to put up with it without making an issue for as long as I can. But when I have had enough, I just ignore my dd. This is actually the worst punishment for her because my attention is all she wants all the time. She cries like mad then calms down a bit and comes for cuddles. I sound so harsh but it helps to break the cycle of tantruming (for 10 mins)

might have to give that a go.....

I ignore it as well and goes on too long DH knows about it when he gets home and passes me on the way out!

ignore. and if you cant ignore put him in his room (just pick him up and dump him without comment) or go to another room yourself. word of warning tho - it will probably get worse before it gets better as he tries to get your attention by making more noise than before. you have to keep ignoring and he will get the message. if you start ignoring and then give in he will know all he has to do is put in a bit more effort and he will win. good news is it shouldnt take too long.
