help with tonge pulling

hi there i have a 5 month old daughter called Maddison... she is a nornal
5 month old chattering away to me and herself but recently she has started
pulling her taunge out and dont put it back in for ages its not a playful
tounge pulling she tries to talk with it out... my sister in law says she
has never seen a baby do that unless it was a down syndrome baby. this was
not detected on the scans and Maddison looks perfectly healthy and normal..
she is a small baby she only weighes 10lb 14oz now but is healthy and normal
she is only 4lb 14oz at full term she was not a prem baby but this tounge
is relly upsetting me now and i'm so worried my daughter has a disabillity
please could you help me i dont know where to turn now is this normal for
a baby??

Please stop worrying - it sounds pretty normal to me. She has probably just discovered her tongue and is fascinated enough by it to want to play with it.

def normal, please stop worrying. My 9 month old discovered his tongue at about that age, and still sticks it out most of the time. He is fine and normal, jsut likes sticking his tongue out and lookign like a raving loony!

kellyk like the others have said please dont worry it is normal. Almost every photo we have of ds at that age he has his tongue out in a stupid looking way and is now a rampaging 18 month old
