7 year old wet the bed after 4 years dry - should I be concerned?

My 7 year old DS has been dry at night since he was 3. But last night he wet the bed. He was fine in himself, just says he was asleep and woke up to find himself weeing. He's a bit embarassed but not ill. He's had a wee since which didn't hurt so no sign of an infection.

Would you put it down to a weird one-off and assume he was just deeply asleep, or would you think it was a sign of something more serious eg an infection or him being worried about something?

One-off. I wouldn't worry, unless hes showing signs of something on his mind?

The same thing happened to me on holiday about 10 years ago Seriously though, I was mortified.

Did he have a very tiring day that may have caused him to sleep heavily? I know that day I'd had a really tiring day's skiing and that's what I put it down to!

Weird one-off, I remember doing something similar when I was 10 ish and was dreaming that I was on the loo but was still in bed fast asleep.

I knew this was going to be a ds.

My ds is 8 and I find very occassionally (no more than once a year) when he is very, very, very tired, he simply does not wake up when he needs to go to the loo.

Is your ds really tired at the minute?

I wouldn't worry as he's not doing it regularly....

Thanks all - I was thinking leave it, but just wanted a little reassurance as it was so unexpected.

He is tired, but no more so than at other times, and he's been more tired before without this. Doesn't seem worried about anything, but is a bit of a clam so don't know...

Will keep fingers crossed is just the once!
