Ds is 16 months and its 8.15pm here he went to bed at 6.30pm as he always does but this is the 4th day in a row that he has screamed and shrieked at bed time, hes always been a good sleeper he usually gets put in his cot with a bottle and hes asleep within minutes but latley he just stands up and screams as soon as we leave the room, He gets plenty of excersise in the day to tire him out, and i always check hes clean and dry and hes got his bottle ect. How do you deal with this?

We used to put ds to bed at 6.30, but this increased to 7pm as he got older because he simply needed more time to go over his day. At around 16 months we introduced a song for him to go to bed after, before that he'd had a relaxing CD playing in his room. Now dh runs through everything we did that day, and what will happen tomorrow.

the same happen to my ds 16m and he now go to bed around 8.30pm and still screaming a bit...
I might try the cd player...but what if he get use and you are abroad or somewhere you don't have a cd player?
Then you need to carry that with you all the time?
with all the other bits....

anyway they sleep less when they get older!

what about a different bedtime routine? e.g. let him have his bottle while you read stories and have a cuddle, then put him in his cot, say goodnight and leave. If he cries and stands up go back in, lay him down and tell him its time to sleep and then leave again. Repeat until he goes to sleep. My dd has a bedtime routine that finishes around 7.30pm which is when we leave her bedroom.
