Help! My 4 yo wont go to sleep

My DD2 started school full time in Sep. She appears to be enjoying school and is happy to go every day. However since she started school she has become a nightmare at bed time. She keeps singing loudly and shouting and being naughty and it sometimes takes an hour and a half of chaos before she goes off. Its starting to affect her in the mornings as she is not getting enough sleep and she is also keeping DD1 awake too!

I've tried everything, stories, bath, quiet time, later bedtime, earlier bedtime, reward charts, threats, bribes, ignoring her and I'm running out of ideas. Anyone out there got a magic cure that I haven't already tried? Help please:(

Also she has always been a good sleeper with no issues until now!

it does seem you've tried everything, maybe a bit too hard?

Glad i,m not alone and yes thank goodness for wine!

i had a few worries about her starting school (well f/t at least) and am still not convinced she's ready.

i think they have are under a whole new set of boundaries now and are going to test all of them to see which ones break

i'm hoping to take each day as it comes, i may well have to eat my words by this time next week, but hey, there are some great 3 for £10 deals around right now so why waste that opportunity

She is struggling to get her head around the fact that she must go every day - pre school was 3 full days. She says she wishes there were more home days and that makes me feel a bit sad. It must be such a shock for them little ones.

Another reason to each for more vino!:o
