Tantrum

my 16month old boy had his first tantrum today. He didn't want to eat his dinner (extreamly fussy) so I took him out of his high chair and said 'ok Harri is not having any dinner' at which point he laid face down on the floor , kicked his legs and wailed ! Do you ignore this or distract their attention away ?

Ignore completely-there is no other way. Talk to him when he is finished.
