How the bobbins do I get 4 year old to wee at school??

He WILL NOT go at school. He's always been funny about public toilets and actually has a bladder of steel

Now he's doing full days he's busting by the time we've walked home and has wet himself as soon as we get to the front door. He came out of school today with a plastic bag and I guessed he'd had an accident before the Nursery Nurse told me.

He's never had accidents before but obviously can't last 8-30 to 4pm without wee-ing.

We've talked about needing to go at school but he refuses, says the toilets are yukky. Aaaarrrrggghhhhh, any tips? Please?

What do the teachers say about this?
While he's at school he is their responsibility.

Are the toilets really yucky?
Have you seen them? Are they in a decent state?

Are the teachers asking him to go to the loo? Are they helping and encouraging him? Do they know why he is refusing to go?

I haven't spoken to them about it (yet), didn't want to be one of those annoying parents!

Do you think it'll be ok then to ask them to tell him to go? I'm new to all this school malarky.

Reward, reward, reward. Tell him you will bring him a comic to school tomorrow but he can only have it if he's had a wee at school. Works with my ds for almost anything. You can then reduce the rewards until weeing at school becomes routine

are the toilets yuckky?
i never went at school at all once in secondary because the toilets were minging and had that tracing paper toilet roll that didn't absorb anything

They didn't seem yucky when we looked round. He's such a bugger with toilets though, if he doesn't like the look of them he won't go.
I know if the teacher asks him if he needs to go he'll just say he doesn't, they'll actually have to make him go in there.

Definitely talk to the teachers.
That wouldn't be annoying, it would be constructive.
You simply need to ask them what the situation is during the day.
They are experienced in such matters and may be able to shed light on the situation.
To be honest, I'm surprised that they handed you a bag of clothes without mentioning anything at all.
