DD scared to fall asleep on her own

My DD is 4, and has just started reception. Since her brother was born 8 months ago (and I had to stay in hospital for 5 days) she has needed me to stay in her room with her when she falls asleep after her bath and book read to her. Before I went into hospital to have DS she was great at falling asleep on her own but now she's scared and had a bad dream once a week or so. Otherwise she does fall asleep within minutes and sleeps v well overnight.

Any ideas how I can get her to feel secure again to be left to fall asleep at bedtime?

I read in a book - playful parenting - a technique that I wish I had know when my DS went through something like this - you say that you are just going to do x but will be back in 5 minutes - you do go back of course - but aparently it really works
