My son is a lovely 19mnth old and is going through this smacking stage where he just won't listen to reSon and keeps doing it to me and other children, any advice on how to deal with this! I've tried naughty soot, saying calmly nit to do it and also reluctantly tries smacking back thanx

I don't think smacking back would help at all, when DD kept smacking (usually just when she was hungry or tired) DH once gently smacked her back, his reasoning being that then she'd know it wasn't nice, but I felt that all that did was make her think it was ok to do it if an adult does it. I think its best just to be firm and say no, blocking the smack if you can, and checking to see if there isn't some other reason why they are acting out.
