normal feelings for a 6 year old??

Advice needed... would you worry if your otherwise normal 6 year old said 'I wish I could ust go to sleep and never wake up again' when asked why? she answered 'because I don't like this world'....Help?!

My DS just turned 8 some times comes out with stuff like this. It's heart breaking but it usually when we tell him off or we ask him to do his jobs.

Hope you get to the bottom of what is troubling her.

Thank you, I need to have a chat with her, she was crying tonight when I put her to be, she said 'You'd cry too if your mum had to go to work' but I have always worked (part time, I'm a single mum) and my mum who lives next door looks after her, she is flexi-schooled so she ses more of me than most kids do! I just know something is not right at the moment but no idea what I can do to make it right!!! :(

i would say its normal if she has something on her mind however little or big that maybe, the difficult part is assertaining what. What is flexi schooled, does she do some classroom and some home? is it maybe that the term has started and she has found it tiring or harder to fit in? I hope you get to the bottom of it and it is nothing to drastic.

Bless sounds like you need to have a duvet day with her watching a dvd and eating sweets, while she may not open up to you on the day she will realise that you are there for her when she is ready to talk.
Perhaps you could try talking to her teddys and dolls about feelings instead of asking her how she feels and why.

Lesstalkmoreaction this sounds like a really good idea, a great bonding day too. My DD was a bit of a worrier so I got her some worry dolls they seem to help. Tiny dolls you tell your worries too then put them under your pillow at night and they take your worries away. I would rather she talked to me about stuff but it seems to work.

Worry dolls - I used to have some of those, I was a lot older though but I think she'll like that idea. We'r e going on holiday on Sunday so we'll get some good bonding then, she seems more settled today anyway It was probably just the change of going back to school etc.
