20 month old biting - how to stop it ?

That's it really ! DS has recently started biting. It doesn't seem to be an anger thing with him - e.g. its not during tantrums (of which he has many !). It almost seems to be an excitement thing ? He'll run over to me and "cuddle" my legs and then bite me. He's done it to DD as well.

Any ideas please ?

Try making out that you're really hurt and upset about it. Show him that it hurt mummy and that you need a kiss and cuddle to feel better? Be really over the top about your agony!

Thanks Kiwi - there was no making out needed Wink I yelped very loudly and shouted at him and he cried but then did it again to dd 5 minutes later Sad

My dd was the same about that age. I told her off, tried time out, pretended to be hurt, everything. In the end, I bit her back. Told her I would bite her everytime she bit me. She tried a few times after and I bit her again.
