9mo has suddenly started gulping

He gulps all the time, not just when eating. Its kind of like a gag/hiccup/gulp combo. It happens just once, about 10-15 times a day.

Could this be related to his food? My DP thinks he has learned a new trick and thats it, but it looks involuntary to me.

I'm no expert, but I would agree with your DP tbh. My 7mo has just started nodding his head like a madman. He loves doing it and giggles all the while. Recently he also started rolling his Rs with his tongue - does it ALL the time.
