my 8 month dd locks her knees when standing up. She can stand for a while, being held, but her legs feel really stiff. IS this normal? dos this mean she's not very strong

Hey,
Its nothin to worry about :) My Son did exactly the same before he got the courage to take a step. He could stand for quite a while but hadnt quite worked out how to bend his knees to sit back down or to take a step so he did the same but his 11 months old now and walks along with his Push-Along walker and is up and down all day :)

Best Wishes

Yep! Their legs sometimes wobble loads too which is cute. Once the muscles strengthen, they don't need to lock knees.

Thanks - what's the best way to strengthen his leg muscles? He's not crawling yet.

Practicising standing up and cruising. So let him get on with it and he'll get there in his own time.
