Hi has anyone had any experience of behavioural optomerist? DS age 7 has been tested for dyslexia and we have been advised to take him to one.
DH very sceptical and as the cost is so high and it's not available on the NHS I wanted to get some feed back before I make an appointment.

Try posting in the "special needs children" forum, there are quite a few people on there who have used behavioural optometrists.

Some are on holiday at the moment so keep bumping .Grin

Good luck.

We have just been a few weeks ago with DS, also 7 and being addessed for dyslexia. We went on a hunch and it found significant vision problems which a normal eye test doesn't pick up on.

Yes you pay, but it doesn't need to be too much . Our initial assessment was £35. However the vision therapy will be several hundred :(

Look on the BABO website.

Again - I'd advise you to post on the Special Needs: CHildren forum.
