Glue Ear

I've just come back from taking ds to his pre-school hearing test (he's 18 months).

He did ok but the woman says he's got 'glue ear' which is causing him to have mild hearing loss
I'm now wondering about dd as well. She's just about to turn 4 and for ages has been saying "What?" constantly when I talk to her but thought it was a phase/habit. Is she more likely to have it as ds does or is that irelevant?

Obviously I'll ring and speak to them about dd as well but just wondered what your experiences were

Hi

I have one with glue ear (still waiting for appointment as we moved Counties as have tos tart again), and two described as borderline hearing difficulties. The decision has been taken not to treat DS1 and 3 at this point by the Paeds, but this would suggest that there might be an incidence in famillies and she should be tested? Only anecdotal, of course, but I would get a test anyway.

Definitely get her tested if you are concerned.
