9mo cries when other babies are loud

Hiya, am normally a bit of a lurker but hoping for some advice.

My 9mo DS gets really upset (real tears) when another baby/child either screams or reaches a slighter higher pitch than normal. I've tried cuddles, reassurance, ignoring it and distraction but nothing seems to work.

He goes to nursery one day a week mainly to get his confidence up and it worked for a while but they say he does it there too.

If he and other babies are outside it doesn't bother him as much. It's getting difficult as if babies get excited their pitch will go higher and everytime DS will cry. Any advice or others with 'sensitive' babies?

My ten month old ds is exactly the same. Have no answers but will watch this thread with interest. He is also very independent and shows little interest in other babies which i find worrying.

My DS also independent. He likes other babies but not as much as other babies like other babies IYSWIM! Happier playing by himself or, randomly, with animals! I've always tried to socialise him but maybe he is just going to prefer his own company.

My ds is also fascinated by animals and can spend half an hour chasing pigeons around park, while other babies play with toys on blanket. he is not upset by any other loud noises.

Ha, ha, likewise! Give him an animal and he shows so much love and interest. And (apart from the hoover) no upset either-doors slamming or dropping something on a wooden floor-absolutely fine!

Maybe they will both turn into biologists or vets!
