My DS is nearly 9 months. He sleeps well, always has, and goes through the night 7pm-6ish.

He's not crawling yet - he sits on his bum quite a lot, happily, playing with toys, although he does roll around - but I catch him yawning a fair bit.

He slept till 6.30 this morning and I saw him yawning about 8ish. THen another few times after.

Is this normal? Pre growth spurt maybe? No teeth, no crawling. but a lot of noise!

I just am surprised he's tired, I suppose

How much total sleep in 24 hrs does he get? An average is 14-16hrs with 11-12 at night and 2 day sleeps.

ds3 is same age and as a rough guide:
Sleep: 6.30/7.00 - 7.00/8.00
morning nap: 9.30/10.00 - 11.00/11.30
afternoon nap: 1.30 - 3.00/3.30
If he wakes earlier than 3 from his afternoon nap he may even need half an hour around 5ish.
He doesn't seem to go much longer than 1 and a half to 2 hours before needing sleep. My other two were exactly the same. I'd say your ds is perfectly normal.
