Food and a five-month-old

My daughter is five months old. I am going to follow the NHS advice and wait until she's six months old until I start weaning...

but is there any harm in giving her little tastes of sterile, sensible food? For example, letting her suck mashed banana or yoghurt from my finger?

If she is sucking food from your finger, then you have started weaning her. I would just wait until 6 months.
