When did your bum shuffler pull themselves up to standing?

Dd coming up to 14months is a bum shuffler. She isn't pulling herself up properly yet.

Dd bum shuffled at 9m or just after, pulled self up at 10m and is now walking (and shuffling) at almost 11m .

Can your little one bear weight ok? If so I wouldn't be overly worried.

mine started bum shuffling about 11 months, didn't pull up to standing until about 14 months, maybe a little later, and never really cruised, although did "walking" with hands from about 13 months. Started walking at 15.5 months and there's no stopping her now (16.5 months)!

my dd was a great bum shuffler. She never crawled and finally waslked at 18 months, there was no reason for this other than she could get from a-b at break neckbum speed.

Ds started bum shuffling at 11 months, but didn't regularly pull up or cruise until 15 months. Walked at 19 months.

ds shuffled at 12 months never crawled and pulled himself up at 18 months and walked soon after

Mt DD same as Giggly - never crawled just started pulling herself up to standing at 17 months then one week later was walking everywhere!

Ilovechickenpie · 22/08/2011 13:02

Sounds like my daughter is on track with other shufflers then! Thanks

My bum shuffling DD didn't bear any weight till about 15 months, pulled up about 16 months and walked at 19 months. Am sure yours will be fine, seems like bum shufflers just pull up and walk later in general (purely anecdotal! Don't know if there is any research into this!)

Tgger · 23/08/2011 21:22

17 months, then walked at 18 ;-)) Don't worry about it!

Miffster · 24/08/2011 19:08

Am envious, my 8 mo DS started crawling at 7 months and pulls up to standing now, is trying to cruise and is too small to understand 'no' and what is dangerous, so am constantly swooping and it is very hard to get anything done! He was a late smiler and still only has one tooth but is a very physical baby with no common sense whatsoever.

Enjoy your baby not being covered in bumps and bruises!

Never crawled, but bum shuffled until just before his second birthdaySad but now can sprint so fast he leaves other kids standingGrin

BlueArmyGirl · 25/08/2011 20:43

Bum shufflers are renouned for being 'later' to walker than crawlers, last time I checked it wasn't generally regarded as concerning until after 20 months and even then depended on how their general physical development seemed.
