So my 6 YO hits and kicks us .....

..... when he is angry. All the rest of the time he is a real delight. He gets mad and lashes out. He regrets it and says he can't stop himself. We have tried all the usual - time out, removing things etc. Any suggestions? He is bright, loving and has no SEN, but we are really concerned. These episodes can happen every day

can you sit down and discuss the problem with him. ask him what he could do instead next time? something physical. kick a ball hard, run outside - anything to get the anger out. then when he feels calmer sit and talk again?
