Anyone else's baby suffered/suffering from separation anxiety?

My DD is 4 months old and has recently started showing signs of 'separation anxiety'-crying when held by anyone other than me or DH, crying when I leave the room, crying when going to a new place. She was fine up until a couple of weeks ago. Anyone else going through a similar thing/any tips on how to cope? Worried I'm never going to be able to leave her with anyone else.

Stranger anxiety starts at 6 months but my DS seemed to have this at about 4.5 months. He has always been clingy and always cries when I leave the room, even when he's with his dad. He stops as quickly as he starts though. It will be just a phase and usually distraction helps and a bit of perseverance. If there are other people coming into your house and immediately going in for a cuddle it can help to ignore baby and let her suss them out first - even if they aren't strangers. Once she has had a good look at them she may be the one to make the first move and then this helps her to realise that these people are nice and fun to be around.
