10 month old not crawling

Hi all im a little worried as my 10 month old daughter is not crawling yet i know some kids take longer thank others but she does not pull herself up on things either. some people say maybe she will walk first but when i hold her hands she does not even move her feet she just stands there she can sit on her own at often moves onto her stomach but just crys when on her stomach as doesnt like it. should i be worried? if not any advice? xx

Mine never crawled at all - did a bit of bum shuffling for a few days & then got & walked as if she'd always done it - she was running upstairs within 2 days -

so no, at 10 months I really wouldn't worry - she's lots of time yet, they are all different & I think from what I was told at the time, its not unusual for them to skip crawling all together

besides - enjoy the pace whilst you can, once she's up & about you have to have eyes in the back of your head :)

lol yeh i know i have a 2 year old as well and he was really quick but if anything i would rather she got up and done sumthing rather than crying all the time when she cant get sumthing. thanks for reply xx

My dc didn't even attempt to crawl until she was nearly 12 months old, and even then didn't do much of it. Didn't walk until 18 months either, so don't worry. I would also second what rockinhippy has said about enjoying the pace while you can. Once they can move, you will be peeing with an audience for ages!

DD is 11.5 months & has only been truly crawling for 3 weeks. She just took off one day! I wouldn't worry yet at all. If she's not made progress in a couple of months I'd maybe mention it to your GP but even so they probably would say "come back in 6 months". My brother didn't crawl til 16 months apparently, & could talk in short sentences by then!

Same as rockinhippy, mine never crawled. Just pulled herself up and walked straight off.

My DD didn't crawl til 12 months, at 14months she's still not really pulling up. Perfectly normal I think, and a lot easier to deal with them when they're not mobile!

Mine didn't crawl until thirteen months, and now at fourteen months just starting to try pulling up to her feet but not consistently. She didn't walk when I held her hands until she was twelve months. Now she just wants me to walk her round all day.

My Dd2 is just coming up to 14 months and is following exactly the same pattern as Rubyabcd. She started crawling at 1 week off 13 months and at 14 months this week is very nearly there with pulling to standing and took a couple of cruising steps today. She was 11 months before she started moving onto her stomach and spent 6 months before that just crying all day because she couldn't move which is why I was convinced there was a problem. Btw, she has never rolled and still doesn't!

I understand your concern as despite being no. 2, I convinced myself there was something wrong and now I realise she's just slower than the norm. I would give it another 2 months and if still concerned see a health visitor but your experience sounds v similar to mine and I don't think you have anything to worry about
